Designed by the architect Amedeo di Castellamonte at the wish of Duke Carlo Emanuele II, who wanted to make it his hunting residence, and built in a very short time, from 1658 to 1679, the Reggia di Venaria is certainly one of the largest and most beautiful Savoy residences. Imposing and sumptuous, its design was taken up for the construction of the palace par excellence, Versailles. The Reggia di Venaria has been part of the UNESCO World Heritage since 1997
